The A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum owes much of its current prominence to the donation of fine collections as well the purchase of a limited number of collections and individual specimens. The generous donation of minerals has come from Michigan Tech alumni and people of the State of Michigan, United States, Canada, and beyond. If you wish to donate mineral specimens to the museum please refer to Support Us. Donations range from single specimens to collections of thousands of specimens accumulated over many years. We are grateful for all of them!

Paul and Janet Clifford of Cleveland, Ohio, have generously donated 1,750 specimens. Paul is the former curator of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History's gem and mineral collection and was assisted by Janet. The Cliffords each have geology degrees and appreciate minerals on a technical level as well as for their beauty. Since the late 1960s, the Cliffords have traveled throughout North America in pursuit of mineral specimens for their collection by self-collecting.
